Andrea Norah Wright

Andrea is originally from Michigan. Her parents encouraged her creativity. She began piano and dance lessons at five years old, performing in piano competitions, recitals and musicals until age 15. Andrea then entered Interlochen Arts Academy, the highly regarded boarding high school for the arts, after which she attended Oberlin College and the University of Chicago. In 1999 she moved to New York City to pursue a performance career. She immersed herself in ballet studies at the Joffrey Ballet School for five years, appearing in workshop performances including "Sleeping Beauty" and "Paquita." She went on to perform with various opera companies in productions of Puccini's "Le Villi," "The Bartered Bride" and "The Merry Widow."

As a singer-songwriter, Andrea has performed at the Dobbs Ferry Waterfront series with Stu Cutler's Blues Band, and the Vladic Hall concert series with Carmine Marino. She has played in many New York nightclubs including Roth's Steakhouse, Arturo's, Miss Elle's, Dorian's, and the Seashore Restaurant with jazz greats such as the Frank Senior Band, the Harry Whitaker Band, Saul Rubin, Essiet Essiet, Roni Ben Hur, Michael Howell, Kim Clarke, Keith Lambeth, Phil Stewart and Marion Cowings. Whenever Andrea gets the time and opportunity she loves to perform for what she considers one of her greatest joys, performing for the elderly. Performing for them brings joy to their faces and brings joy to her heart.

Andrea is currently recording a new CD, writing music. She plans to go on tour and travel with her band in Australia, Japan, Canada, and the Caribbean.

Andrea was in “Annie Get Your Gun”, at the Prince Music Theater in downtown Philadelphia on Broad and Chestnut Street.
She played five different roles as part of the ensemble.
It was a union show, regional theater (LORT D house).
